I need to talk about how heartbreaking this scene is. Lin begs Katara to keep trying, not only for Korra, but because Korra and Lin share the same fate. If Korra doesn’t get her bending back, neither does Lin.
Think about this, the Beifong legacy is their bending. When Katara says that Korra’s connection to the elements is severed, you can see Lin’s whole world just crush inside her. This is really happening. I’m not an earthbender anymore.
And then, when reassured that “it’s going to be alright”, Korra replies with “no, it’s not.” Then she leaves and we see everybody watching her…except Lin. She has her head down, trying to keep it together, because she understands. No. It won’t be okay.
